October Immersions

  • Our immersions offer an opportunity to deeply experience the unparalleled beauty that is life at La Gonette while engaging in a thoughtfully curated program of contemplative and creative practice. Our programs feature workshops with local and international artists, writers, and meditation and movement teachers, centered around an appreciation for the local terroir and the unique rhythms of life in the Luberon. Participants will enjoy delicious, seasonal dining, a daily program of workshops and learning opportunities, and plenty of time for rest, play and adventure. Connections with other guests and our local community will ensure that your time here is something you will never forget. Immersions can be taken as a 2- or 4- week retreat.

  • Where is La Gonette located?

The estate sits at the base of the medieval village of Simiane-la-Rotonde in the Haute-Alpes of Provence in the south of France. A traditional farming region, it is surrounded by lavender fields and olive groves.

    How do I get there?

The nearest major train stations to La Gonette are Avignon and Aix-en-Provence (approximately 90 minutes drive). High-speed trains from Paris run regularly to these stations, and the journey takes around three hours. You can also fly into Marseille, which has an international airport. We will help you to arrange transport from one of these locations on your arrival and departure.

What sort of workshops will I be able to attend?

We have a regular program of meditation and writing workshops, plus the opportunity to learn about local plants and the La Gonette estate through our gardening program. Local artists will also deliver workshops on ceramics and screenprinting to support you to embrace your creative side.

What facilities will I have access to?

Guests have access to the house and grounds of La Gonette, including gardens, terraces, pool, hammam and meditation space. All utilities, including wifi, are provided.

    Will I need a car?

La Gonette is relatively remote, and there is very limited public transport in the region. There is no rideshare service and taxis are difficult to organise and very expensive. We recommend that you hire a car and we are happy to connect you with other guests if you wish to car share. Please note that you will need an international drivers' license in order to hire a car in France.

Do I need to speak French?

While it is particularly useful if you can speak any French, it is not necessary. Our program is run in English and basic fluency in English is needed to participate.
