Who is the Workshop For?

The workshop is for anyone interested in learning more about natural silk dyeing. No prior experience is required.

Workshop Structure and Inclusions

The workshop will be held on the La Gonette estate and will be run in a small group format. The workshop and group discussion will be facilitated in English, however French language translation is available.

Participants are asked to arrive at 9.00am for a 9.30am start, and lunch will be provided. You will create a silk scarf to take home with you, as well as a colour chart, a recipe book, and samples of different natural materials.

About the Facilitator

Both a textile artist and a craftswoman, Aurore Pélisson explores textile finishing through high-end and ethical pieces of art and ready-to-wear. With her poetic approach, she offers textiles to look at, touch, smell, wear. All the pieces are unique, designed and made in natural dye in the south of France workshop. Materials go through different stages, human hands transform, divert, experiment and combine ancestral and contemporary techniques. The variety of know-how allows the design of unique and sensitive pieces.

Location

The workshop is held in person at Chateau de la Gonette, Quartier le Seris, 04150 Simiane-la-Rotonde, France.
